About Doug Blackie

Doug’s personal mission is to live life with purpose, accomplish work that matters with intention and courage, as well as have fun doing it!

In line with his mission, Doug brings a unique combination of knowledge, experience and wisdom gained over 30 years building and leading teams in the public, social profit and private sector. Doug holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria (BC).

He enjoys working with clients to build collaborative and inclusive spaces that align people and ideas, facilitating co-creation of new knowledge and learning to uncover novel and sustainable solutions to some of the most wicked problems in health care. This is accomplished using tools such as structured dialogue, appreciative inquiry, and design thinking.

Doug brings this positive, engaged, and collaborative leadership approach to his management consulting work as well as his teaching at Royal Roads University's School of Leadership Studies.

Doug’s home base is in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and from there serves clients across Canada and globally.
